How do websites work?

Don't laugh, this is a real question.

If you don't know what websites are, how can you start building them?

So don't be afraid to ask questions even if you think they seem "stupid". It's very important for us to talk about it for a little while before going straight into website creation!

Obviously, you visit websites on a daily basis. To do this, you run a program called a web browser by clicking on one of the icons shown on the left.

Web browsers are basically the automobiles of the web. You need one to get from point A to point B, and in our case we are talking about going from one website to another, or at the very least from one page to another.

With a web browser, you can visit any website.

Try going to www.siteraw.com for example... you just need to click the link, or enter the address in the address bar (on top).

But while everything somewhat grasps what the web is, very few understand exactly how to web works... this is where HTML5 and CSS3 come into play.

HTML5 and CSS3 are computer languages used for creating websites.

All websites without exception are based on these two languages, which are now essential and used by everyone who has ever gotten into web development.

HTML5 and CSS3 are the very foundation of the web.
